Montessori Outside
- Funding!
- Grants!
- Freebies!
Lack of funding is a perceived barrier that is difficult to overcome when venturing into the world of outdoor learning. Fortunately there are grants, free resources and workshops available to support teachers when creating an outdoor prepared learning environment.
Throughout my research most grant opportunities have application deadlines between January and March.
The Habitiat Conservation Trust Foundation accepts applications twice a year February 1st and September 1st.The grants are offered to support outdoor learning experiences for BC children to learn and connect with nature.

When applying for grants of funding it is important to include the following things in your applications:
- Why is creating an outdoor prepared environment important to you?
- What are the benefits?
- What is your goal?
- What will the funding/grant be used for?
- Provide links to relevant curriculum.
- Share an outdoor learning experience.
Freebies:
The Canadian Wildlife Foundation through their Wild Spaces programs offers FREE pollinator plants. Schools can sign up by May and are selected randomly. Lucky schools will receive a four-pack plant kit that aims to support educators to connect children with nature while learning about pollinators.
Making community connections:
Reach out to local community organizations and parent volunteers who are knowledgeable about different topics. Connect with a local nature house, local government administrative, community centers or library.
Blocks provide you with everything you need to build a larger page. They contain a variety of content elements, such as images, buttons, headings, and more. These elements are arranged in rows and columns, which provide a useful structure, as well as a sense of balance within the overall composition. You can modify this structure using our intuitive drag and drop interface, which allows you to rearrange content to your heart’s content.
